Savory Pie Twists

Because sometimes you make too much pie dough.

Here we used the leftover pie dough from our Sun-Cheddar Apple Pie recipe to make a delicious snack.

Savory Piecrust Twists

Don't throw out excess pie dough! Turn it into a tasty snack instead.

Ingredients

  • left over pie crust dough
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine leftover piecrust dough. Roll out to about ⅛'' thick.
  • Cut into 1'' strips. Fold in any uneven edges, and then form into twists.
  • Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes.
  • Combine melted butter and garlic powder. Remove twists from oven and brush with the garlic butter mixture. Return to the oven and bake for about 15 – 25 more minutes, until the twists start to turn golden brown.

Notes

You can top these with pretty much anything: cheddar cheese, everything spice, cayenne pepper, whatever you want it to taste like.
